Today is my 30th birthday.
For the last 8 months I have been working on a personal project that brings together my loves of photography, giving back and global culture. that project is The 30Love.
The 30Love is a global charitable art project. We want to know, what does love mean to you at 30? My goal is to raise $30,000 in 30 days for charity. For that, I need your help.
The 30Love goes live in a little over a week (!) so in preparation for that, I’d be grateful if you’d do these two things for me as a little show of Tumblr birthday love:

Amazing Rooftop Shoot Yesterday
i am so delighted to have just been featured in the wonderful LPV magazine featuring my hush portraits. i’m humbled to be in pretty killer company. please pick up a copy when it comes out. they have a wonderful curatorial sense and are a superb addition to the photo community.
Just finished an absolutely stunning shoot day in San Francisco
for my 1000th post (!), i want to say a big resounding thank you to all of you guys! you make this blog fun, worthwhile and oh-so rewarding. please consider yourself high-fived!
I had a fantastic day shooting at Soul Food Farm in Vacaville. The farm is dreamy - lush and sprawling - and of course, amok with chickens. Everywhere. Thousands of em!
It’s exactly the kind of place you think of when buying “free range” (read: factory farmed) eggs at the market - a place where chickens have free reign to live their clucking lives as they please. Soul Food is literally a sea of happy hens! And the obvious bonus? Alexis and Eric who own the farm are about the sweetest people around. I always love making the trip!

I loved shooting Helene and Spencer Marshall of Marshall’s Honey today. I’m a huge fan of honeybees and it was a wonderful experience getting to know such a sustainable (and delish!) spot run by very cool people. Fun fact: Marshall’s Mt Tam Wildflower Honey was our wedding favor since we were married on Mt. Tam!
My photoshoot today with Connie Green, fungi forager extraordinaire, was amazing! Connie is truly one of a kind and meeting her was very special. She was even sweet enough to send me home with some hedgehog and black trumpet mushrooms plus handmade black truffle butter. I’m in heaven right now!
